Welcome to Optical Fiber Sensor Group

With the fast development of optical fiber technology, optical fiber based sensors have drawn intensive attention in all kinds of application areas. We take advantage of fiber technologies and combine with other research fields, such as chemical and biomedical engineering, to provide better solutions. The expertise of research team is in the areas of optical fiber design for physical, chemical and biomedical applications. The team has more than twenty year experiences in optical fiber sensing system, fiber Bragg grating device, fiber optics chemical sensors, photonics crystal fiber biosensor, digital signal processing, such as artificial neural network, fuzzy logic, genetic algorithm, wavelet, etc. The team leader Prof. Chan Chi Chiu has published more than 170 peer-reviewed SCI journal papers related to the sensing area. He is appointed as an Associate Editor of IEEE Sensors Journal and Journal of Sensors, and he is also as a member of OSA (Optical Society of America) and SPIE (Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers) . As a Pengcheng Scholar in Shenzhen and a Class B talent in the Shenzhen Peacock Project, he is currently working as a Lifelong Distinguished Professor at the Sino-German College of Intelligent Manufacturing of Shenzhen Technology University .
